Pennsylvania Association of Blind Students

Spring Seminar 2011 Registration Form

A letter from the PABS President:

Dear Student,

Have you ever felt that being blind or visually impaired makes you different? Have you ever wanted to live free from these feelings of exclusion? Have you ever wished that you could know a blind person from whom you could ask advice on how to do things more effectively? Have you ever worried that you would not be able to be competitive in your education or career due to your vision? The National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania (NFB of PA) is an organization of blind individuals that works to resolve these questions and improve the lives of all blind people.

Within the NFB of PA, successfully employed blind individuals - including lawyers, doctors, scientists, teachers, business owners, etc.- all strive to help others obtain their career dreams. Blind students share ideas and tips on how to make life as a blind student “normal” and stress free. The members of this organization dedicate themselves to helping each other in many different ways. We share our experiences to encourage others to achieve greatness. We work to pass legislation that will give blind people equal opportunities to succeed. Most importantly, we put forth efforts to educate the sighted community about the abilities of blind people. In this organization, everyone can learn much and help others at the same time.

The Student Division of the NFB of PA cordially invites you to join us for our Spring Seminar, April 1-3, in Middletown PA. This seminar will give you the opportunity to meet other blind students, learn helpful tips on how to maintain an active lifestyle as a blind person, receive a tour of the state capital, learn about prestigious scholarship opportunities, and participate in many engaging and interactive workshops and sessions. To attend, simply fill out this Spring Seminar 2011 Registration Form, and mail it to the address noted on the form. Enclosed with your registration form please include a fifty dollar deposit which will be refunded in full upon attendance at the seminar. We hope you take advantage of this excellent opportunity and look forward to seeing you in April.

Sincerely,
Zachary Brubaker, President
